Catering for Kitchen, Home Workshop, Sewing and Hobbies, Gardening and Outdoors.

Hair Dressing

Catering for Salons and Working from Home Hairdressers and including Sales, Sharpening and Repairs.

About Us

In 2021 we were saddened to announce the retirement of Bob Turner as director of Flamin' Sharp. We wish him the best as he embarks on this next chapter of his life. However, we are very pleased to inform you that Bob's son, Dan Turner has taken the mantle. As director of Flamin' Sharp he is overseeing the licensee recruitment throughout Australia. In addition Dan will continue the operation of Mr Knife, providing mobile sharpening services throughout the greater Adelaide area of South Australia.

Flamin' Sharp's founder, Bob Turner has been involved in the sharpening industry in some way for over 40 years. In the early days, drills were the only items that we sharpened. It was soon noted that there was a great demand for the sharpening of 'Hole Saws'.

Machines to do this were not commercially available, but being a Fitter and Machinist by trade and operating a machine shop, with in the month, we had designed and built a machine to meet this demand. Hole Saw sharpening soon became the dominant source of income for the business. During a working trip to Darwin and back through W.A, there were more enquiries about different items, particularly Tungsten Circular Saw blades. Purely by accident, we had a chance encounter with a tradesman in Karratha who had a small portable machine to do this exact job. We soon added this to our service. Further enquiry uncovered a need for knife and scissor sharpening. A specialist 'Wet Grind' system was added to the list to cover these items.

This early evolution of Flamin' Sharp's was bought about through necessity, innovation, vision, demand and a great deal of hard work. We continue to evolve on a daily basis as each year customers are still coming up with new sharpening challenge, and we are always adapting to meet these needs.
